Salattu

Terms of Service

Salattu platform terms of service.

Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Salattu (the "Service"), a password manager operated by ArikSquad ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be at least the age of majority in your place of residence to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials (including your master password) and for all activity under your account.
  • We recommend enabling two‑factor authentication (2FA) where available.

Your Content and Zero‑Knowledge Model

  • Your vault may contain passwords, secure notes, and 2FA secrets (collectively, "Vault Contents"). Vault Contents are encrypted before being sent to our servers. We store only encrypted data and decryption nonces; we cannot access plaintext Vault Contents.
  • You retain ownership of your Vault Contents. You grant us a limited, non‑exclusive, worldwide license to store and process encrypted Vault Contents solely to provide the Service.
  • You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and use of your Vault Contents and for complying with applicable laws.
  • If you lose your master password and recovery options, we cannot decrypt your vault. You may permanently lose access to your Vault Contents.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to, and not to allow others to:

  • Use the Service in any unlawful, harmful, or abusive manner, including for phishing, fraud, malware distribution, or infringement.
  • Attempt to access accounts or data without authorization, or to bypass security or rate limits.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the Service except to the extent permitted by law.
  • Interfere with the Service’s operation, integrity, or performance.

We may investigate and take action (including suspension or termination) in case of suspected misuse.

Software, Updates, and Availability

  • We may deliver updates, patches, and changes to the Service without notice.
  • We strive for high availability but do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error‑free.
  • Beta or experimental features may be offered with reduced support and may change or be discontinued at any time.

Third‑Party Services

  • We use infrastructure and service providers (e.g., hosting, databases) to operate the Service. We also integrate with identity and SSO providers (e.g., WorkOS) when enabled by you or your organization.
  • Your use of any third‑party services is subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third‑party services or content.

Fees and Taxes

  • Some features may be offered for a fee. If applicable, billing terms (price, term, renewal, cancellation) will be presented at purchase. Fees are non‑refundable except as required by law or expressly stated.
  • Fees may be quoted exclusive of VAT. If VAT or other sales taxes apply, they will be added as required by law based on your billing details and location.

Intellectual Property; License

  • We retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service and related intellectual property.
  • Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes.
  • If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty‑free license to use them without restriction or obligation to you.

Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it. Please review it at: privacy-policy (/docs/legal/privacy-policy)

Term, Suspension, and Termination

  • These Terms remain in effect while you use the Service.
  • You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access for any reason, including violations of these Terms, legal or security concerns, or inactivity.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. We may retain certain records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., security, fraud prevention), as described in our Privacy Policy.

Data Retention and Deletion

  • While your account is active, we retain encrypted Vault Contents and associated metadata as necessary to provide the Service.
  • You can delete items or your account in‑app. Deletion requests are processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON‑INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR‑FREE.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR (B) €50 EUR. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY; IN SUCH CASES, THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY ONLY TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Except where prohibited by law, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Finland, with the Helsinki District Court (Helsingin käräjäoikeus) as first instance for non‑consumer disputes.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA or the UK, you enjoy the protections of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring claims in your local courts. The EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform is available at https://ec.europa.eu/odr.

Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the Service and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (for example, by posting an update in‑app or on our website). The updated Terms will be effective when posted unless a later date is stated. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
